Subtract 4x - 2x^2 -2 from the sum of the polynomials x^2 + 3x -2, 3x^2 - x.

Sum:

(+3x-2)+(3x²-x)

by removing the brackets,

+3x-2+3x²-x

by grouping the like terms

+3x²+3x-x-2

4x²+2x-2

Subtraction:

according to the question,

(4x²+2x-2)-(4x-2x²)

here the signs change for 4x-2 as (-) is outside the bracket

by removing the brackets now,

4x²+2x-2-4x+2x²

by grouping the like terms

4x²+2x²+2x-4x-2

6x²-2x-2
