x²=y²+16-------(1)
x²+5²=(y+3)²
open brackets..
x²+25=y²+9+6y------(2)
by subtracting (1) from (2) we get..
(x²+25)-x²=(y²+9+6y)-(y²+16)
x²-x²+25=y²+6y+9-y²-16
25=6y+9-16
25=6y-7.
6y-7=25
6y=25+7
6y=32
y=32/6
