Given :  Sudhir purchased a house for ` 7,00,000 in all  through a broker by giving 3% brokerage

immediately was sold by him at a profit of 3%

To Find : (i) The commission of the broker.

(ii) The amount received by the house seller.

(iii) The amount gained by Sudhir.

Solution:

Sudhir purchased a house for ` 7,00,000 in all  through a broker by giving 3% brokerage

Price before brokerage ( amount received by house seller)  = 100P

Brokerage = (3/100) 100P = 3P

Total Price = 100P + 3P = 103P

103P  = 700000

1 = 700000/103P

3P = 3P * 700000/103P = Rs 20,388

brokerage  = Rs 20,388.35

Amount received by whole seller  = 100P * 700000/103P = 6,79,611.65

3 % profit on 700000

Amount gained by sudhir = (3/100) 700000 = Rs 21000
