Basically sugar is a carbohydrate containing polysaccharides.

Sugar is chemically called as sucrose.

The nature of sugar is neutral.

Sugar is considered as neutral because on dissolving sugar ir does not produce either H+ ions or OH- ions.

If any molecule releases H+ ions it is considered as salt.

If it releases OH- ions it is considered as base.
