Answer:

(a)  Adrenaline is often described as the emergency hormone because it is released in response to anxiety, exercise, or fear. When adrenaline is released, it signals the brain to redirect energy and blood from the internal organs to the muscles to prepare to fight or flee.So adrenaline is also called as flight or fight hormone. Adrenaline causes an increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and rapid, shallow respiration. The body temperature will increase and cause sweating.

(b) The pituitary produces most of the hormones which are responsible for the control and maintenance of all the organs of the body, secretion of the glands of the body and proper functioning of the body. Example- growth hormone, prolactin, TSH, ACTH, Leutinizing Hormone, FSH. It stores and releases oxytocin and vasopressin.

(c) The Himalayan soil is deficient in iodine. Thus, the food grown in such soil also becomes iodine deficient. Due to this reason, when Himalayan people consume iodine deficient food, they do not get the proper intake of iodine. Therefore, people living in the low Himalayan hilly regions often suffer from goitre.

(d) Simple goitre is caused due to the lack of iodine in the diet which causes hypothyroidism. It is a deficiency disease and is easily reversible by a proper intake of iodine. Iodine helps in the synthesis of thyroxine hormone.
