Suggest an arrangement to store a U shaped magnet. How is this different from storing a pair of bar magnets?

U-shaped magnets also known as horse-shoe magnets can be stored properly as follows:

→ Keep a piece of soft iron piece at the end of the poles of a U shaped magnet.

→ The magnet along with the soft iron bar must be placed in a wooden box for proper storage.

A pair of Bar magnets is stored as follows:

→ First of all their opposite attraction fields must be facing the same direction. [That is the north of one bar magnet must face the south of the other magnet.]

→ Then a wooden piece must be placed between the two magnets.

→ After that, two iron bars or sheets must be placed at both the ends of the magnets.

This is the difference between the storage of a horse-shoe magnet and a pair of bar magnets.
