Some alternative to the people for the Idol immersions in the river are as follows-

• In current scenario, Industries are producing synthetic non-biodegradable materials on a very high scale resulting in high amount of waste and hence poor decomposition of garbage.

• All waste goes to the river and polluting the water, in results it effects marine life, hazardous to humans as well. Becoming dangerous to the whole ecosystem.

Alternatives for the idol immersion:

1. Rather than immersing idols in water that results in pollution, dump wastes on particular landfills made specifically for treating waste or bury them.

2. Biological treatment must be applied rather than chemical or thermal treatment. It will reduce pollution. Eg. Biorradiation.
