The French Revolution was a watershed event in world history and has had many paradigm changing effects. However, the most important contribution of the French Revolution to the world has been the idea of Republicanism. After the French Revolution, the idea of Republican rule came to take root in Europe and people began to question the logic of monarchical rule and the 'Divine Rights Theory'.
