Suhan conducted an experiment to investigate the properties of magnets. While taking out
the magnet, it fell down and broke into two pieces. He tried the investigation again with broken
magnet, but he didn’t get the expected result. Explain why he failed to get the expected
observation.

Many feel that when magnets are broken there is a concept of reversal polarity that takes place. One must understand the concept of how magnets work.

When magnets break, each broken piece becomes a unique piece with their own north and South Pole.

Now if you think that magnets that had North Pole and South Pole at the same place when it was intact, will now have it at the same place even after it has broken down, then you are mistaken. The poles change its place as it has now become unique.
