sulphur and phosphorus dissolves in water..
when sulphur reacts with hydrogen gives H2S
and when, phosphorus reacts with hydrogen gives H3PO4

Both dissolves in CS2 
but with sulphur it is toxic
for phosphorous white phosphorous dissolves in it
