Sulphur forms sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide which are termed as Acidic oxides. Why?​

Yes, this is absolutely true. It is due to the fact that all non-metals form acidic oxides, i.e when they're brought in contact with a base of equal strength, they undergo neutralization. Conversely, all metal oxides are basic. However, there're a few exceptions to this rule. For example, there is the concept of Amphoterism. Amphoteric Oxides act like both, acids and bases. You don't need to worry too much about them though, most of the times, this rule applies. Since Sulphur is a non-metal, its oxides are acidic in nature.
