Answer:

Mother's age = 45 years

Daughter's age = 15 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, Mother's age = X years

Daughter,s age = Y years

So,

1st condition.

X + Y = 60 ————————(Equation 1)

After 5 years,

Mother's age = X + 15

Daughter, s age = Y + 15

So,

2nd condition,

Mothers age = Twice of Daughter's age

X + 15 = 2 ( Y + 15 )

X + 15 = 2Y + 30

X - 2Y = 15 ———————(Equation 2)

From 1 and 2,

By elimination,

X + Y = 60

X - 2Y = 15

- + -

3Y = 45

Y = 15

Now, X + Y = 60

X + 15 = 60

X = 45

X = 45

Y = 15
