Answer:

35 is the number

Given:

  • Sum of digits of a 2-digit Number is 8
  • Number obtained by interchanging the digits is 18 more than the original number.

To Find:

  • The original number

Solution:

Let the tens digital original number = x

The ones digital original number = ( 8 - x )

The original number :

⟹ 10(x) + ( 8 - x )

⟹ 10x + 8 - x

⟹ 9x + 8

The number after interchanging the digits:

⟹ 10 ( 8 - x ) + x

⟹ 80 - 10x + x

⟹ 80 - 9x

According to be question:

New number = Original number + 18

⟹ 80 - 9x = ( 9x + 8 ) + 18

⟹ 80 - 9x = 9x + 8 + 18

⟹ 80 - 9x = 9x + 26

⟹ 80 - 26 = 9x + 9x

⟹ 54 = 18x

⟹ 54/18 = x

⟹ 3 = x

Original number:

⟹ 10 ( x ) + ( 8 - x )

⟹ 10 ( 3 ) + ( 8 - 3 )

⟹ 30 + 5

⟹ 35

35 is the original number
