Let the ages be = x, 2x, 3x

Four years ago, their ages were x, 2x, and 3x. After four years, the ages will be:

x + 4, 2x + 4, 3x + 4

Sum of ages = 72

=》 x + 4 + 2x + 4 + 3x + 4 = 72

=》 6x + 12 = 72

=》 6x = 60

=》 x = 10

Age of A = x = 10

Present age of A = x + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14 years
