we can write this series as

$1 + \frac{3}{7} + (\frac{3}{7} \times \: \frac{3}{7}) + .........$

This is an infinite geometric progression with common ratio of

$r = \frac{3}{7}$

sum of this G.P.

$= \frac{a}{1 - r}$

$= \frac{1}{1 - \frac{3}{7} }$

$= \frac{7}{4}$
