Let a and b are two numbers,
Sum of squares of a and b = 80
a² + b² = 80----( 1 )
Difference of squares of a and b = 36
a - b= 36---- ( 2 )
Do the square of equation ( 1 ) ,
( a - b ) ² = ( 36 )²
a² + b² + 2ab = 1296
80 + 2ab = 1296 [ from ( 1 ) ]
2ab = 1296 - 80
2ab = 1216
ab = 1216 / 2
ab = 608
Therefore ,
Product of the two numbers
ab = 608
