Solution

Given :-

  • Sum of two numbers = 50
  • If the arger number is divided by the smaller number we get 4

Find :-

  • These two number.

Explanation

Let,

  • First Number be = x
  • second number be = y

According to question .

( Sum of two number is 50)

==> x + y = 50_____________(1)

Again,

(If the arger number is divided by the smaller number we get 4)

==> x/y = 4

==> x = 4y

==> x - 4y = 0______________(2)

Subtract equ(1) & equ(2)

==> y + 4y = 50

==> 5y = 50

==> y = 50/5

==> y = 10

keep value of y in equ(1)

==> x + 10 = 50

==> x = 50 - 10

==> x = 40

Hence

  • First Number be = 40
  • Second Number be = 10

Answer Verification

According to question,

(If the arger number is divided by the smaller number we get 4)

==> x/y = 4

keep value of x & y

==> 40/10 = 4

==> 4 = 4

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

That's Proved.
