According to question,

x + y = 25 ................(i)

and

x - y = 13 ................(ii)

From eq. (i),

x= 25 - y...........(iii)

By Putting the value of x in eq. (ii)

x - y= 13

25- y - y = 13

25 - 2y= 13

-2y = -12

y = 6

x = 25 -6 = 19

x= 19

Hence, the value of x is 19 and y is 6.
