If the train was going 40 kilometers per hour and the train passed in 15 seconds then the answer is 1/6 of a kilometer because if you divide 40 by 60 ( number of minutes in an hour) which gives you the length if it was one minute. then you divide by 4 (number of times 15 goes into 60) then you get the length of the train of 15 seconds. And the answer is 1/6. 40/60=2/3. 2/3x1/4=2/12. And 2/12=2/3! Sorry, just pretend the x is the multiplication sign. I hope this helps you and good luck!
