James describes how things are not the same in the fairyland. There are no flowers garlands. James recalls another rowing trip from the past where he went to the Hampton court with George. There, a photographer was taking picture at a stream launch and calls out at George and James to stay out of their picture. In attempting to keep their boat out of the frame, George and James both fell over and were photographed with their feet in the air. This surprisingly makes a beautiful image. However, the owner of the stream launch who had paid the commission for the picture refuses to pay for the picture. James describes the attractions of the place where Clifton and where roman ruins were also found. There was a pleasing park and the a grave of a person who was said to have fathered 197 children. James warns the readers about the challenging stretch of the river near oxford.
