Explanation: The author has moved into a new school where none of his friends are with him. He feels alone and misses all his old teachers and goes to visit them once in a while. One day as he was doing his homework and his cat purring all over and swatting at his pen, he got a burning smell. The house had caught fire. He ran out of the house and by that time the fire brigades had come. He noticed that his mother had gone inside to fetch his father's old memories and letters along with important documents. The fire had been put out and after 5 hours, to much of his horror, he had realized his cat wasn't there. He was heart-broken. However his mother forced him to go to school. He had no bag, no uniform and no shoes either. Then, as he went to school, he saw many people surround him and push him into the gym. They had collected school supplies and clothes for him. He felt so good. Then one day, he met a lady who called out to him and said, "Is this yours?" and to his surprise it was his cat. She had ran almost a mile away from the house during the fire. He was delighted to have his cat back and was thankful for his life, his friends and his most loved cat.
