‘On Various Kinds of Thinking’ is an essay written by James Harvey Robinson in his book ‘The Mind in the Making’.

EXPLANATION:

Robinson defines thinking as a free association of thoughts or the reverie of thoughts is how our thoughts wander freely. He emphasized that these free associations of thoughts form the chief index of our character.

He stated that these thoughts travel by thinking through the past, present and future to create new ideas in an individual’s mind. Simple thought processes like where to go for lunch out or what to wear for the function tomorrow all forms part of this reverie of thoughts.

These thoughts culminate to form a central index that creates the basic character of an individual. He also elaborates about how artists, philosophers, and many more great thinkers have utilized these basic free thoughts.
