Ilona Fenton’s poem called “Different” breaks the stereotypes associated with women. She writes just because she is “different” as she hears “a different song”; it doesn’t mean that she is “wrong”. She says she dresses up differently and she has a different opinion. This doesn’t mean that she must be blamed for it.  

She opines that just because she doesn’t “work from 9 to 5” or “earn an annual wage”; this doesn’t mean she is “on the skive”.

The poet writes that she is not a part of the “common crowd” as she is different; it doesn’t mean that she is “not proud”.
