Ernest still lived in his native valley. He was simple hearted man. He always worked for the betterment of the world. Though he was considered to be an ordinary man yet he was humble and rich in thoughts. With the passage of time ,Ernest became old. He had wise thoughts in his mind. He had become famous all over the world. Men came from distant places to see and speak to him. A new poet had appeared on earth while Ernest had been growing old. The poet was a native of Ernest's valley but had stayed in distant cities for a long period. The poet had heard of Ernest's character. One day, he came to his door. Ernest was reading a book and glancing lovingly at the mountain from time to time. Ernest gave him shelter for the night. The great stone face looked kindly at the poet. The poet found Ernest ,wise ,gentle and kind.
Ernest used to speak to his neighbours every evening. The poet also accompanied him the poet listened to his talk. He felt that Ernest's life and character were a far nobler kind of poetry than his own poems just then ,the poet saw the great stone face . He declared Ernest as the likeness of the great stone face every body agreed with him. Ernest still hoped that someone wiser and better than himself would appear sometime, bearing a likeness to the great stone face.

ERNEST  WAS A MAN  OF MIDDLE AGE. HE WAS WELL KNOWN FOR HIS GOODNESS AND LOVE FOR MANKIND. HE HAD VERY NOBLE AND WISE THOUGHT S IN HIS MIND.

BUT HE HIMSELF THOUGHT THAT ANY OTHER PERSON WAS WISER AND BETTER THAN HIM.  THAT PERSON WOULD HAVE A LIKENESS TO THE GREAT STONE FACE IN THE DISTANCE.

ERNEST STILL LIVED IN HIS NATIVE VALLEY . HE WAS A SIMPLE HEARTED MAN. HE ALWAYS WORKED FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE WORLD. THOUGH HE WAS CONSIDERED TO BE AN ORDINARY MAN YET HE WAS HUMBLE AND RICH IN THOUGHT.
—ERNEST LIVED IN HIS NATIVE VALLEY. HE WORKED FOR THE WELFARE OF THE WORLD. —HE WAS CONSIDERED AN ORDINARY MAN AND YET HE WAS HUMBLE AND RICH IN THOUGHTS. —WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME, ERNEST BECAME OLD AND WISE. HE BECAME FAMOUS ALL OVER THE WORLD. —PEOPLE CONSULTED HIM FOR THEIR PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND ERNEST GAVE HIS HELP WILLINGLY AND SOLVED THEIR PROBLEMS. —A NEW POET HAD APPEARED ON EARTH. THE POET WAS A NATIVE OF ERNEST’S VALLEY BUT HE HAD STAYED IN DISTANT CITIES FOR A LONG PERIOD. —ERNEST READ THE POET’S SONGS. HE THOUGHT POET MUST BEAR LIKENESS WITH THE GREAT STONE FACE. HE LIFTED HIS EYES TO THE MOUNTAIN. THE FACE SEEMED TO SMILE, BUT DID NOT ANSWER. —THE POET HAD HEARD OF ERNEST’S CHARACTER. ONE DAY HE CAME TO HIS DOOR. ERNEST WAS READING A BOOK AND GLANCING AT THE MOUNTAIN FROM TIME TO TIME. HE GAVE HIM SHELTER FOR THE NIGHT. —THE GREAT STONE FACE LOOKED KINDLY AT THE POET . THE POET FOUND ERNEST WISE, GENTLE AND KIND. ERNEST WAS ALSO MOVED BY THE POET’S MIND. IT SEEMED THE GREAT STONE FACE WAS BENDING FORWARD TO LISTEN TO THE POET. —ERNEST EXAMINED THE POET’S FEATURES. HE HOPED THE POET WAS THE PERSON HE HAD BEEN WAITING FOR. BUT THE POET DECLARED HIMSELF UNWORTHY  OF THE LIKENESS OF THE STONE FACE. HIS LIFE WAS DIFFERENT FROM HIS POEMS. —ERNEST USED TO SPEAK TO HIS NEIGHBORS EVERY EVENING. THE POET ALSO ACCOMPANIED HIM AND LISTENED TO HIS TALK.  THE POET FELT THAT ERNEST’S LIFE AND CHARACTER  WERE FAR NOBLER KIND OF POETRY THAN HIS OWN POEMS. —THEN THE POET SAW THE GREAT STONE FACE . HE DECLARED ERNEST AS THE LIKENESS OF THE GREAT STONE FACE. EVERYBODY AGREED WITH HIM. —ERNEST STILL HOPED THAT SOMEONE WISER AND BETTER THAN HIMSELF WOULD APPEAR SOMETIME, BEARING A LIKENESS TO THE GREAT STONE FACE.
—ERNEST STILL LIVED IN HIS NATIVE VALLEY. HE WAS MIDDLE AGE NOW, WELL KNOWN FOR HIS GOODNESS AND LOVE FOR MANKIND. VERY NOBLE THOUGHTS CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH. HIS HAIR TURNED GREY. BUT MORE NUMEROUS THAN HIS WHITE HAIR WERE THE WISE THOUGHTS IN HIS MIND. HIS FAME TRAVELLED BEYOND THE VALLEY. MEN CAME FROM DISTANT PLACES TO SEE AND SPEAK WITH HIM.

—WHILE ERNEST WAS GROWING OLD, A NEW POET HAD APPEARED ON THE EARTH. HE TOO WAS A NATIVE OF THE VALLEY. HE HAD SPENT THE GREATER PART OF HIS LIFE IN DISTANT CITIES. ERNEST BECAME A GREAT ADMIRER OF THAT POET AND USED TO READ HIS POEMS AFTER HIS DAY’S WORK.  HE FELT THAT THE POET WAS WORTHY TO BE THE LIKENESS OF THE GREAT FACE. THE POET ALSO HEARD STORIES OF ERNEST‘S CHARACTER  AND WISHED TO MEET HIM.

—ONE SUMMER DAY, HE ARRIVED AT ERNEST’S DOOR. HE FOUND ERNEST READING HIS POEMS AND LOOKING LOVINGLY AT THE MOUNTAIN. ERNEST GAVE HIM SHELTER FOR THE NIGHT. HE EXAMINED THE POET’S FEATURES AND NOTICED A LOT OF SIMILARITY WITH THE STONE FACE. THE POET SAID HUMBLY THAT,HE WAS NOT WORTHY OF THE STONE FACE’S LIKENESS.  THERE WAS NO DOUBT A HEAVENLY VOICE IN HIS POEMS, BUT HIS LIFE DID NOT MATCH WITH HIS THOUGHTS. HE HAD ONLY GRAND DREAMS. BUT HE LACKED FAITH IN HIS OWN THOUGHTS. HE PRAISED ERNEST AS THE PURE SEEKER OF GOOD AND TRUE.

—AT SUNSET, IT  WAS USUAL FOR ERNEST TO SPEAK TO HIS NEIGHBOURS. HE WENT TO THE OPEN MEETING PLACE ALONG WITH THE POET. HIS WORDS HAD POWER BECAUSE THEY AGREED WITH HIS THOUGHTS. HIS THOUGHTS HAD POWER BECAUSE THEY AGREED WITH THE LIFE HE HAD ALWAYS LIVED. THE POET WAS GREATLY IMPRESSED. HE FELT THAT ERNEST’S LIFE  AND CHARACTER WERE NOBLER THAN HIS OWN POETRY.

—THE GREAT STONE FACE IN THE DISTANCE HAD WHITE CLOUDS AROUND IT. ERNEST WITH HIS WHITE HAIR ALSO LOOKED SIMILAR TO THE STONE FACE. THE POET SHOUTED TO THE PEOPLE; “ SEE, ERNEST HIMSELF BEARS THE LIKENESS OF GREAT STONE FACE !” THEN ALL THE PEOPLE LOOKED AND AGREED WITH THE POET. BUT ERNEST AS HE WALKED HOMEWARD STILL HOPED THAT SOME MAN WISER AND BETTER THAN HIMSELF WOULD SURELY COME SOME DAY, BEARING A LIKENESS TO THE STONE FACE.
