Innisfree is an island in Ireland. The port was born there. He had spent his childhood in the island. Later his family moved to London. The port was in London when he wrote this poem. Heremembers his childhood days.

The poet wishes to go to Innisfree to get peace. He wants to build a small cabin of clay and wattles. He also wants nine bean-rows there and a beehive and live alone.

The second stanza is about how he will get peace.

In the third stanza, he expresses his desire to hear the sound of water in the lake.
