Hugh Erskine is a very good looking man but has no profession and to make things worse he was in love with a girl named Laura Merton.Her father was a Colonel who lost his temper and digestion in India.He didn't let them get married , Untill Hughie made ten thousand pounds.The next day Hughie meets his good friend Alan Trevor.Alan was an artist ,On the day that Hughie met him, He was painting a picture of a beggar and on a platform there was a real beggar model when ,Alan went to talk with the frame maker the beggar model took an advantage and sat on the platform, Hughie felt bad and gave him a Sovereign the beggar thanked him. Next day Hughie finds out that Alan told the beggar model all his personal affairs, Hughie goes into fumes Alan then explains to Hughie that the beggar model was Baron Hausberg. Hughie exclaims that he gave him a Sovereign, Alan bursts into laughter.The next day at breakfast Hughie gets a check by Baron Hausberg which read 'to Hugh Erskine and Laura Merton from an old beggar'. At the marriage Baron Hausberg makes a speech and Alan exclaims 'Millionaire models are rare enough but, by Jove model millionaires are rarer still!'.
