this poem is written by henry longfellow. in this poem he have talked in the favour of the rain. in first stanza he is describing the beauty of rain in the summer. because rain in summer is a best blessing for the humanity after a long period of time. in the second stanza the poet is emphasizing that whenever the rain drops clatters along the roofs, it seems like the sound of horse's hoofs in this line he is comparing the sound of rain with the sound of horse's hoofs. how rain struggles to reach out the throat of the pipes. in the third and last stanza he is saying that whenever it falls, across the glass windows, it pours fastly and far along with soil waves and all the rain water is being collected in gutter and it seems like there is a river down in the gutter roaring. Then he is welcoming the rain of the new season he is very excited because this rain has poured after a couple of days or may be even months
