The summary is taken from the poem 'the River' which is written by Charles Kingsley. In the poem, the poet is talking about the clean river.

The river can be a symbol of both cleanliness and pureness and both sin and purity. A river can be a place for drinking, laughing, bathing, and playing, a place where mother and child can belong. Near it, the ouzel bird sings under a rock. The wall of the church near it was covered with icy plants. The church bell rings there. It is a pure place for pure people. The poet also passes by a dark, swampy and polluted place. The sewer was passing by the dock and making the bank stinky.

In the last part, the poet is saying that the river has become strong and free near the sea. The flood gates are opened and the river gets into the sea. The river cleans all its filth and then touches the golden sand with its pure tides.
