Porus and his Elephant is the poem written by the poet Mary Dobson. The poem is basically a lyrical ballad describing the love and faithfulness of an elephant with his master. The setting of the poem is the war between Porus and Alexander.

The war starts between porus and Alexander where Porus got defeated and injured very badly. The faithful elephant took him to the safe side on his back. Although the mastur was safe but his faithful animal lost his life. They shared a very loving relation.
