Summer vacation assignment.
Do it as u did in class 9 for a multiple assessment.
Make a one file folder for these projects.
Class 10 Math Project:
1. Body Mass Index

Measure the heights (in centimetres) and weights (in kilograms) of 10 students in your class. Then, calculate their BMI indexes and declare them fit or not fit using the formula [BMI = Weight/(Height)2]

a. If your calculated BMI is below 18.5, then he/she is underweight

b. If the BMI is in between 18.5 and 24.9, then he/she is healthy

c. In case the BMI is in between 25 and 29.9, the he/she is overweight

d. If the BMI is higher than 30, then he/she is obese.

2. Project:- Pythagoras Theorem

Make a right triangle of sides given as 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm. Now make 3 square sheets of 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 length. Fix these sheets on each side of the triangle. Now divide the sheet into 1 cm squares such that 3 cm sheet has 9 squares of 1 cm length, 4 cm sheets has 16 square and so on.

Now considering the Pythagoras Theorem: a2 + b2 = c2

Where; a = c2 – b2, b = c2 – a2, c = a2 + b2

Henceforth, 32 + 42 = 52

This will verify the Pythagoras Theorem.

3-Project: -Restaurant Menu

Create an order menu for 5 different dishes, 5 types of beverages and 5 different desserts. The project can get along with simple adding of prices of dishes to calculating the price of 3 people ordering different dishes. It all depends on how innovative you can get with the menu by giving 10% senior discount. Or you can include GST for the entire order as you like.

4. Probability Demonstration With The Help Of Coins

Take three coins of different denominations. You have to toss these coins at the same time and you will come across following probable outcomes:

HHH, THH, HTH, HHT, TTH, HTT, THT, TTT (8 outcomes are possible)

Where H = Head and T = Tails

Now you can calculate the probabilities of any event; suppose the probability of 2 heads = 4/8 = ½ and so forth.

It all depends on you whether or not to increase the number of coins as it will tend to increase the probable outcomes.
