Summer vacation is the holiday period during summer season. All the schools and colleges become closed during this period because of the high environmental temperature in summer months (especially half May and full June). It becomes the hottest period of the year during summer vacation. Kids feel very happy and relax all through the vacation. Most of the students generally go to their native village, hill stations, or other cool places to enjoy with cousins, family members or village friends. Some of the kids join swimming or dancing classes to happily spend the vacation. Students are given study work for summer vacation from the school which they have to submit on opening of school.

When the weather is too hot to play out, people spend time indoors. As the weather is hot, some enjoy making cool dishes like ice creams and juices at home. These drinks make them cool and refreshed. Some people who hate hot weather , go and live in the mountainous areas. Over there the weather is cold and at times moderate. People visit their family and grandparents. Many children enjoy their holidays reading interesting and detective books. They have sufficient time to practice their favorite hobbies. Some children practice their studies in their holidays for the next academic year. In summer , mangoes are one of the most fruits available in market. So they enjoy eating mangoes and sweets. At last few weeks of the holidays, children pack their school bags for the next term .
