Sun is the ultimate source of energy. Herbivores eat plant which have prepared their food using sunlight in the process of photosynthesis. Carnivores then eat them as a result they feed indirectly over sunlight. Then the omnivores feed indirectly over sunlight if they eat meat and feet directly over sunlight when they eat vegetables or fruits.
