Answer:

bcoz when sun is setting the light from it has to pass through a greater thickness of atmosphere to reach us. Much of the blue and violet colours is scattered away and only the yellow and red colour ultimately reach us, thereby making the sun red...

hope it's helpful

plz mark it as the brainliest...

Sun looks red at sunrise and sunset because sunlight undergoes dispersion in the Earth's atmosphere due to which it's red component is scattered away and red component remains. It's because red light has the longest wavelength whereas blue light has the shortest wavelength. This is also why the sky appears blue during the day. At sunrise and sunset sunlight has to travel the maximum distance hence it appears red because sunlight is scattered most whereas when sun is directly overhead sunlight has to travel least distance hence it appears white as it's negligibly scattered and white light is the resultant of all 7 components of light that is VIBGYOR (VIOLET, INDIGO, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, ORANGE & RED).
