◆ Sunflower is not a flower -

Sunflower is actually a group of flowers called inflorescence.
An inflorescence is a group or cluster of flowers arranged on a stem that is composed of a main branch or a complicated arrangement of branches.
Sunflower shows presence of capitulum type of inflorescence in which bunch of flowers appear as a single flower.
