Given :  A part of the room charges is fixed at ₹ 500 and the remaining depends on the additional bedding  charged at ₹200 per bedding.

To Find :  linear equation

the number of beddings required by Sunita is 3, then the total charges paid by her

the total charges paid by Sunita is ₹900, the additional beddings taken by her is:

Solution:

Fixed charges  = ₹ 500

Addition Bedding charges = ₹200 per bedding.

Number of Additional beddings = x

Charges for  x Additional bedding = 200x

Total Charges = y

=> y = 500 + 200x

linear equation is y = 500 + 200x

number of beddings required by Sunita is 3

y = 500 + 200(3)  = 1100  ₹

total charges paid by Sunita is ₹900

=> 900 = 500 + 200x

=> x = 2

Additional Bedding required = 2

The graph of a linear equation in two variables is a straight line

for one bedding they need not pay,

Then they paid

= 500 + (3 - 1) 200

= 900 ₹
