If a disease is effecting a reproductive system in an individual and affecting all the individuals of the species, there will come a time when these species would not be able to reproduce and may be extinct from the planet.

Reproduction is the only mean of maintaining the number species on a planet. If a disease effects the reproductive system, individuals of that particular specie won’t be able to procreate  and soon disappear.
