Solution:

The width of the rectangular garden, b = 79 m

The total expenditure on fencing the small garden = Rs 2244

The rate of fencing the garden = Rs 6 per meter

∴ The perimeter of the rectangular field = $\frac{2244}{6}$ = 374 m

We know,

$\boxed{\bold{Perimeter\:of\:a \:rectangle = 2 (l + b)}}$

∴ $2 (l + b) = 374$

substituting the value of b = 79 m

$\implies 2 (l + 79) = 374$

$\implies 2l + 158 = 374$

$\implies 2l = 216$

$\implies \bold{l = 108 \: m}$

Also, we know

$\boxed{\bold{Area\:of\:a \:rectangle = l \times b}}$

Now, using the above formula of area, we get

The area of the rectangular garden is,

= l × b

= 108 × 79

= 8532 m²

Thus, the area of the small rectangular garden is → 8532 m².

It costs 2244 to fence it at 6 per meter.

To Find : area of  garden  

(A) 8453 m²

(B) 8325 m²

(C) 8532 m²

(D) 8345 m²

Solution:

Let say Length of the garden is  L m

Perimeter = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

= 2 ( L + 79)  m

Cost of fencing per m is 6

Hence total cost of fencing =  6 x 2 ( L + 79)  

= 12 ( L + 79)

12 ( L + 79) = 2244

=> L + 79 = 187

=> L = 108

Area = Length * breadth

= 108 x 79

=  8,532  m²
