Even if copper was very high in its reactivity series, it would not have been a very useful metal.

Copper is least reactive in nature.

This is the most important feature that comes into play when determining the usefulness of a metal.

Sometimes the highly reactive material is not useful too.

However, copper is mainly used for electrical connectivity, zinc and aluminium coatings are still protecting the copper from external climate.

Answer:

No

Explanation:

It would not have been such a useful metal because it would have then easily reacted with air and moisture and would have corroded. This wont have allowed copper to be used in wires, calorimeters etc.
