Dear Diary,

I do not understand how to even write about this. I am feeling a slight shock but at the same time I feel like I will overcome the challenge ahead of me.

My doctor just told me about my reports. I had tests going on for a few days now. It turns out that I have lost my complete hearing ability and will not be able to do anything about it.  I guess the hearing aids will have to be my only way of communication now on as well as the ASL which i have been fond of for a while now. I know that using sign language isn't difficult and most of the world does it, but it just seems frustrating at times not being able to communicate properly due to one sense of the body not working.

I think I will try the tips that my best friend told me about, considering her younger brother, Michael is also a patient and he suffered from a similar problem. Only he had this problem by birth.

I guess its time to face the music and make this a part of my life. Instead of pushing it away, I will own up to it.

Have to go now,

Will catch up later.

Signing off,

Evelyn Glennie
