Suppose you are studying two stars. Both stars have the same apparent magnitude, but star A has a greater absolute magnitude then star b. What can u tell about the distance from earth of these two stars

Apparent magnitude is how bright a star can be seen from the earth ,it may depend on ones sight and ability of the eye therefore two stars may appear to have same apparent magnitude but in the real sense they are far apart. Absolute magnitude basically means how bright a star can be seen from a standard distance so if star A has a greater absolute magnitude than B then it means star A is closer to the earth than B
