<META> tag is used when you want a page to pass on value but not to be indexed.

<META NAME="name" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> is the basic syntax if you want to a page to pass the value but not index it.
<META> tag is used within the <head> </head> tags.
"noindex" tells the search engine that even though it can pass the value of the page, it cannot be added into its' search index.
