Given:

  • Suresh  bought 70 bananas at 1 each .
  • 10 rotten bananas.
  • Sold remaining for 1.50 each.

To Find:

  • Profit or Loss?

Solution:

Cost of 70 bananas = 70*1 = Rs.70

∵ 10 of them rotten

∴ remaining bananas = 70 - 10 = 60

Now,

Selling price of 60 bananas at 1.50 each =  60×1.50 = Rs.90

∴SP is greater than CP.

So, Suresh is in profit.

∴Gain =  SP-CP = Rs.90 - Rs.70

= Rs.20

Answer:

Cost of 70 bananas = 70×1=70

Remaining bananas = 70–10=60

So, Selling price = 60×1.50=90

Hence, Suresh is in profit because sp is greater than cp.
