Purpose of survey :
1. To investigate factors associated with spectacle wear in a group of primary school children
2. Survey report revealed that about five children out of 100 below 12 year age were found to wear glasses.
Various reasons were revealed like children spending more time watching TV, video games, or using a mobile phone for prolonging hours. can be borne with slightly smaller or bigger eyes.
Children Are also using PC noe=w days for visual learning.
This can either make them long sighted hypermetropia or short-sighted, myopic.
In some cases, the child's eye was found to be slightly larger, which needed minus lens power. In the case of children, wearing glasses only improves the sight or reduces the strain on their eyes, it cannot make the eyes any better. Similarly, not wearing spectacles doesn't make it worse.
Children now spending time more in indoor games with TV screen or computer screen, than outdoor games.
Due to the above criteria, children below 12 year age are becoming prone to the eye problem and have to wear glasses.
