Answer:

Explanation:

the distance to be run by susie = 26 miles

her estimated speed= 8mph

therefore,

time taken by susie to complete the marathon =  26/8 = 3.25 hours

hope this helps you!

Given:

  • Speed = 8 m/hr
  • Distance = 26 miles

To Find:

  • The time that is taken by her to complete the race.

Solution:

The formula to find time is,

Time = distance/velocity  → {equation 1}
On  substituting the values in equation 1 we get,

⇒ Time = 26/8 = 3.25 = 3 hrs 15 mins.

In the above step, we used the formula to find the time taken by dividing the values and then converting the obtained value in terms of hours per minute.

The time that is taken by her to complete the race = 3 hours 15 mins.
