Swadeshi Vrath was written by Lord Curzon.

Lord Curzon served as the Governor General and the Viceroy of India.

The famine of 1899-1900 is one of the most important historical events during his reign.

He was also responsible for the starting of the Swadeshi movement after the partition of Bengal in 1905.

It is to be noted that, it is regarded as one of the most important pre-Gandhian events in history.
