In 1984,The Indian government declared and decided to observe the birthday of swami Vivekanand ( 12 January , according to English calendar) as National Youth Day every year from 1985 onwards

Swami Vivekananda's birthday is observed on 12 January in India and is celebrated as National Youth Day from the decision of the government of India from 1985.
