l reformer, author and freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak made the statement ‘Swaraj is my birth right and I will have it’

This inspired thousands of Indians to lay foundation for an organized freedom movement against the oppressing British rulers.

Tilak being a political extremist and vocal critic of the policies of Indian National Congress, demanded for ‘sampoorna swarajya’.
