Abraham Lincoln had to go through many hardships in his childhood. His mother passed away when he was nine years old. Though he spent his early years in a log cabin he grew up to be a great orator and a strong and principled leader of the country. His family moved from one place to the other several times. He was born in Kentucky, then they went to Indiana and Illinois in his early 20s. So he did not get chance for much formal education but with his determination he became self educated. Inspite of a rough childhood he grew up to be the President of America. The saying, 'sweet are the uses of adversity' is proved here.
