☆ International system of units (SI)

★ The system of units which is accepted internationally for measurement is abbreviated as SI.

★ the SI with standard scheme of symbols units and abbreviations was developed by and recommended by General conference on weights and measures in 1971 for international usage in scientific, technical, Industrial and commercial work . the System of units is essentially a modification over the MKS system and is therefore called rational lysed MKS system. this rationalisation was essential to obtain the units of all physical quantities in Physics the fundamental units of mass length and time on MKS system could be used to obtain the units of physical quantities in mechanics only there are 7 fundamental units and two supplementary units.
