Answer:

Leaf venation:

The ‘arrangement of veins’ on the leaf surface, blade, or the lamina is known leaf venation.

Leaf venation types:

  • Reticulate - found in dicot plant leaves with small veins arising from the main midriff, and interweave to form a net-like structure on the leaf blade
  • Parallel - found in monocot plant leaves with veins that ‘running parallel’ to each other.

                               Plants                  Venation

                                   Coconut        -            Parallel

                                   Banana         -           Parallel

                                   Bamboo        -           Parallel

                                   Tulsi             -          Reticulate

                                   Neem           -          Reticulate

Root system: The part of the plant that is rooted under the ground is the root system. This provides the plant with water and other mineral nutrients from the soil. There are three types of root system:

Taproot – present in monocots. One main root with side branches

Fibrous root – present in dicots. A network of many roots of the same length

Adventitious root – root structure in plant parts other than the root

Coconut: Fibrous root

Banana: Fibrous root

Bamboo: Fibrous root

Tulsi: Taproot

Neem: Taproot
